About Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Paint Protection Film (PPF)-also known as Clear Bra, Car Wraps, Vinyl Wraps, or Clear Shield–provides the ultimate defense against nature’s harsh effects.

  • Protects paint from rock chips
  • Safeguards against weather
  • Preserves appearance without repainting

What Are The Benefits of Paint Protection Film?

Rocks and road debris are perhaps the greatest threat to your vehicle’s appearance. Because Paint Protection Film is high impact resistant, it neutralizes the threat of rock chips.

The top layer of a quality film is made up of elastomeric polymers that return to their natural shape after being stretched or disfigured, giving the film a “self-healing” property. That means when light scratches are inflicted in the film, it absorbs the damage and returns to the texture and properties it had before the incident.

The urethane film is resistant to acidic contaminants, which means it blocks stains and etching.

Acid rain and mineral deposits can slowly eat away at a car’s paint if it is not covered by corrosive-resistant Paint Protection Film.

UV rays from the sun make your paint oxidize and fade over time. PPF blocks them.

Paint Protection Film does all of this while remaining completely transparent. When a film is properly installed, it is invisible to the naked eye. That said, there is also matte PPF which gives your car a stealth satin look.

The quality of a car’s paint is a major factor when determining its resale value. Paint Protection Film will help ensure that you get the most out of your car.

This one is really a summary of all the rest. It is the whole point of Paint Protection Film. By neutralizing environmental threats and protecting your car’s paint, PPF keeps your car in like-new condition with comparatively minimal maintenance.

Paint Protection Film is NOT bullet-proof

Paint protection film is incredibly strong and impact resistant. That being said, it does not have super-powers. It can be damaged by a particularly strong force.

Paint Protection Film is NOT maintenance-free

Long-term automotive paint protection is never a one-stop solution. The road is a dirty place. Your film will get dirty. If you let dirt, bird-droppings, or bug-splatter sit on your car’s film, you will shorten the film’s life. You will still need to wash your car regularly in order to maintain its look and maximize the value of the film. In order to help with the maintenance and longevity of a film, we always recommend applying ceramic coating on top.

Paint Protection Film Options

For complete protection, Paint Protection Film can be applied to all exterior painted surfaces. This is called a Full Wrap.

Alternatively, Paint Protection Film can be applied to the areas most vulnerable to rock chips and scratches. Typically, this comes as either a Full Front (PPF applied to the full front bumper, full hood, full fenders, and mirrors) or a Track Pack which includes full front and adds rocker panels
